SEED & SEEDLING NURSERY

Our nursery is a space for caring for, propagating, and exchanging heritage seeds, seedlings, trees, and plants, as well as producing compost that supports our growing practices.
WHAT IS IT?

In collaboration with Tierra Prieta, we have been strengthening this small but mighty nursery to make a diversity of healthy plants, trees, and seeds available to our community and other growing projects—adapted to our territory and cultivated through agroecological practices.

Plants and seeds from our nursery are shared free of charge, because we believe access to these resources is an essential part of building food sovereignty.

OUR ONLY ASK:

“Take what you will plant and care for.”

We also encourage seed and plant exchanges and donations to continue strengthening the diversity of our nursery.

Compost

Once we have compost, we work on the micro-ecosystems in each planter, where we transplant all plants, trees, and cuttings. We follow the waning moon cycle: pruning, transplanting, fertilizing, and planting seeds during the waning moon. Then, for the rest of the month, we care for those seedlings, trees, and cuttings daily so they're healthy and ready—whether for visitors to our space or to be taken to another person's or organization's space elsewhere.
